Today went better than I thought. My first two trains were very uneventful despite having no staff and no ability to sell beer to the salivating public.
Only got sworn at once today which is am-a-zing for a saturday. The sweary man was pretty short lived anyway as he was only on the train for fifteen minutes. The sad thing though is that he had his five year old little boy with him who, when his Dad started swearing and shouting, put his fingers in his ears. Poor little kid is obviousely used to it and so tries to block it out. Sometimes I think people should have to have a license to have and raise kids.
On a happier note, saw lots of halloweeny people including zombies, witches, vampires, bloody corpses etc etc. The high spot of my night was definately the six foot guy who got on the train at Bedford dressed as a BANANA!!! How funny and not-very-scary is that? Such a nice guy too. He was accompanied by his obviousely long-suffering girlfriend who was more halloweeny as a witch's cat.
Funny quote of the night though came from a goth who travels regularly (big burly goth in his 40s) who told me he loves halloween as it's the only time he looks normal. Too funny!
Rich has spent the night hiding upstairs with all the lights off, reading by TORCHLIGHT!! He has an absolute loathing for trick or treaters and goes to any length to not have to deal with them. I sometimes wonder how we ever got together as we are so different. I love him though!
Am hoping to hack out in the morning but the weather is set to take a turn for the worse so it might be a wet one.
Going to bed when I get home, so 'night all :-)
